Born and bred in the North-East of England, Paul has an experienced eye for a landscape. He is able to see the beauty in nature, the type of beauty that most people overlook. Growing up, he spent many years training his eye for taking incredible scenic shots and creating unique views of the everyday using analogue cameras.
This skill was then honed using digital cameras to take greater close ups and more detailed, broader landscape pictures.
You will see, from his pictures, that while he tends to specialise in different views and perspectives of light, there is not one particular style or theme at play, although the overarching idea is not to get drawn into the specifics of a photo, but to embrace new ideas.
This leads onto one of the newer directions of Paul’s photography – dance! After taking photos to help out a local dance school, he has realised that there is a lot of potential in capturing the intricacies of movement.
He doesn’t have a definitive path but wants to show that, often, the vision is not in the direction you would expect. “Sometimes, in a crowd, face the other way and you will find greater beauty.”
Paul’s photography allows us to see how he observes the world, for one singular moment when the beauty unfolds and, for that moment, nothing else matters.
